In the realization of photonic integrated devices, materials such as polymers are crucial. Polymers have shown compatibility with several patterning techniques, generally affordable, and may be functionalized to obtain desired optical, electrical, or mechanical characteristics. Polymer waveguides a viable platform for optical connectivity since they easily adaptable on-chip on-board integration promise low propagation losses <1 dB/cm. Furthermore, polymer can made extremely flexible, able withstand bending, twisting, even stretching. Optical sensing is an interesting field research that gaining popularity in photonics. Due its huge potential use industries, waveguide-based sensors attracted lot attention. their resilience electromagnetic fields, operate better difficult situations, those found electrical power generating conversion facilities. this review, most widely used discussed Moreover, four significant applications polymer-waveguide based which include biosensing, gas sensing, temperature been debated.
